Living in FL with very little change in season, I have managed to survive without a real coat, opting instead for layered light jackets. A weekend trip to Savannah, GA this past January changed my mind and I found it necessary to invest in a real honest-to-goodness winter coat. I have always shied away from items that were purely utilitarian, because as you know, comfortable things are not usually attractive! Which is why I never looked twice at those puffy jackets (it may be freezing, but who needs the extra 10lbs?!). My new Calvin Klein puffer jacket, however, is the exception. I tried it on by accident on Black Friday at Macy's; maybe the fact that it was 5:30am made me delirious, or maybe it was because I am attracted to furry things. Either way, it was love at first sight. I don't want to bore you with what a great deal I got on it, nor do I want to go into how I have found every excuse possible to wear it (5 times since Nov). So here are a few pics instead, the Cadillac of winter coats:
This year I am ready for you Savannah; me and my puffer coat!
Such a great coat!
ReplyDeleteI agree..usually when a piece is fully functional and keeps you so warm, you compromise the look.
It takes a little more effort to find one that looks good too, but it's worth the work! =)
